All of my dolls, except Felicity and Lindsey, are ridiculously underweight. Well, I think they are, but its weird, because they all fit perfectly into their Meet clothes. Molly's clothes especially are a problem. Her tennis outfit won't even stay on, I had to make her a belt to keep it from falling off. Her Christmas dress is way too big too, and her victory garden dress has to be tied really tight. Samantha's sailor outfit is majorly too big on her too. Addy always looks like she's wearing her mom's clothes. And that's just the beginning! All my other dolls have similar problems. I love them, and I've devised ways for them to wear the clothes, but has anyone else had this problem? (just for reference, the dolls I have are: Kaya(M), Felicity(PM), Josefina(PM), Kirsten(PM), Addy(PM), Samantha(PM), Nellie(M), Kit(M), Molly(M), Layne (PM-AGOT), Lindsey, Kailey, Marisol, and Marie(M-AGOT))

no, sadly, like me, my girls are are on the cubby side. Sam and Kirsten are white bodied so have big hips. Susanna is a Gotz and has a smaller chest and wider hips than AG girls, Lissie and Addy are early 90's and the only way I can get Addy's Cape Island dress to fit is if she wears Lissie's stays.

Three possibilities:
1)You are just used to the way many clothes fit now, so earlier eras clothes look strange
2)Your dolls just happen to be thin ones ( they vary a lot)
or 3) you happened to get clothes that were cut large. I have one item like this - Saantha's old swimming outfit, which has nust been released ( with changes). The skirt on ours is about 3" too big - obviously a mistake. I had to move the snaps, or put it on a bear!
If it' just how you are used to seeing clothes fit that is the problem, then, this is just what these dolls were made for - to demonstrate how different ( and yet the same) life used to be compared to now. I'm a child of the 1950's, and back then there was all kinds of talk about tight jeans, and especially that scandalous Elvis and his tight jeans. But if you look at photos of him, his jeans were what we now call a relaxed fit. Definately not tight! Only in comparison to earlier eras.
I have lost of photos from the 1930' and the way the dresses fit really differed then. You wore what you had for as long as you could and new things were made large to last along time.
If your dolls are slim and you'd like them to plump up, it is as easy as drawstring pants. You simply untie the sring at their neck, add polyfill and tighten the string back up again. Anyone who can tie a knot or bow can do this. It is easier ( I promise) than changing a dolll's dress or shoes.

Our Addy is a bit slim and I've found that her clothes look much better when she wears her slip and hoops. Perhaps your dolls' clothes would look better with their slips and/or undie sets. We also have a doll with no butt, our AGT 21. Pants do seem to fall right off of her. I've noticed that all of the newer dolls are different. As I said, Addy and AGT 21 are slim, but my daughter recently got an AGT 3 who is a bit chubbier - which I much prefer. We are going to AGPNY next month and we'll definitely search boxes to find the perfect doll. We were there last year and my daughter chose her AGT 21. We looked at several to find the best hair and face, but it never occurred to me to look for a chubbier body or tighter limbs. This board is very helpful!

LOL - I want to be a fly on the wall when you are going through the store pinching bottoms!
I wish I had the option of buying in person for the same reason though. We've all got great bodies around my house (present company excepted) but have hair and coloring issues sometimes.
